Porch Remodel Week 2 and 3

Sorry for the delay in porch remodel updates.  We went back to IL for Thanksgiving to visit my parents and Andrew's parents (holidays are so much easier when your families live across the street from each other!)

The remodel is really coming along.  Because of the holiday last week, there were only about 2 working days and an inspection day.  The framing was officially completed and then the plywood went up.

Week 2 Day 4/5

By day 6, the electrician came out for the first time to do the rough electrical.  We have an abundance of outlets now!

 Week 3 Day 7
The new week brought windows!
I cannot wait to sit out here and look out of these windows!
 Our new sliding glass door.

 Day 8: Siding!
Now it actually looks like apart of the house!

 Day 9: insulation went in.
I can actually go out there to take pictures without a coat on.

 Day 10: Drywall!

The drywall should be completed by the end of next week.  I've never drywalled anything, but from Andrew's obsession with This Old House, I have deduced that it requires a lot of work involving taping and sanding.
Once the drywall is complete, the final electrical will be completed and then the following week floors and trim!  Stay tuned :)

  1. It looks great! I can' wait to see it in person. I've never drywalled or taped either, but I do know it is a dusty, difficult job. You either have a knack for taping or you don't. Can't wait to see what happens next.
