Emme 8 Months

 January 24, 2017
STATS
Weight: 19 lbs
Height: 28 inches
Clothes: 9-12 months

EAT
This girl loves her food! Meal time is definitely a favorite around here. However, it usually results in an outfit change as well because Emme is not the neatest eater ;)
Some favorites:
blueberries, strawberries, beans, potatoes, clementines, bell peppers, snap peas, cheese, tortillas, rice, hummus, french toast, pancakes, sweet potato pancakes, plain yogurt, applesauce pouches, peanut butter

Emme still nurses every 3 hours. I swear she is like a bottomless pit. But her sister was exactly the same.

An example of lunch: beans, string cheese, carrot and hummus, bell peppers, whole wheat tortillas

SLEEP
*Sigh* we're down to 2-3 wake ups at night. And that's so sad that I consider that to be a good night. I always think that maybe you'll magically sleep through the night and every night I wake up to your crying. Someday, maybe.
You're down to 2 naps a day. Morning nap and a longer afternoon nap. You are a great napper, much better than your big sister. When we are out and about for Charlee's activities, then you usually don't get that morning nap, which is rough.

PLAY

 playing the drums

She loves to brush her teeth.

Playing with toys in the play room
We started doing more sensory bins this month. Emme loves the pasta bin! She grabs handfuls and dumps them on the floor, then we pick them up and repeat.
Dried beans and yarn are also fun.

Someone found her feet this month!

Having fun at the Lacrosse Children's Museum

Emme loves playing with Little People (however, she usually has to fight Charlee for them).

SISTERS

LETTER TO EMME

Dear buggy,

Every day I love you more and more. You are such a smiley girl and love snuggles. You are still all cheeks and I love to kiss them all day long. Your hair is my favorite. It just keeps getting longer and crazier. I hope hope it gets curlier and you have my curly hair. Charlee started out with curly/wavy hair and now it's straight. I hope you keep those crazy curls.

You love to be tickled and have the biggest belly laughs. I love to see you and your sister together though. You both adore each other and you always have the biggest smiles for Charlee. She is starting to get more protective of her toys, but you are very easygoing (for now) and go with the flow.

We have spent a lot of time at home this month. Lots of time getting naps in and lots of time playing. You get carted around to all of Charlee's activities, so it's nice when we can hang out at home and you can get some good naps in and just play. Although we do end up at Target a lot and you have graduated from being in the carrier to riding next to Charlee in the big cart. You think it's the coolest thing ever. I think you will like it even more when you can also get a cookie from the bakery.

You are such a sweet little girl. I wish you would sleep better at night, but I guess beggars can't be choosers. I love you to the moon and back.

Love,
mommy

Charlee helped take some of the photos this month.
