13 Things You May Not Know About Me

1. I LOVE scary movies.  October is by far my favorite month because there are always scary movies on some channel and an abundance at the RedBox.  Some of my favorites?  SAW, Paranormal Activity, Psycho (the orig), The Grudge... really there are so many it's hard to remember which ones.

2. I love to bake.  Really I love to bake because I love sweets.  Pretty much the only reason I bake chocolate chip cookies is because I'm craving the cookie dough.

3. I'm a sorority girl.  I was VP of Member Development my junior/senior year in college for Pi Beta Phi at ISU.  I also served as an advisor after I graduated and am currently the alum club co-president in Madison.

4. I love bilingual education and teaching in Spanish.  Yes, monolingual would be so much easier and I would actually have materials, resources, and support, but it's just not as fun!  I remember in high school when I asked my Spanish teacher for a college recommendation, she said that I wouldn't find a job with an elementary degree and Spanish.  Oh how wrong she was!  I have only worked as a bilingual educator.  I think if I didn't have this degree and this skill, I wouldn't have a job.  Me encanta mi trabajo.  Es magnífico.

5. I have an unhealthy obsession with candy corn.  It's ridiculously sugary and it's all I can think about.

6. I hate moths.  They creep me out.  They're ugly and fly at your head.  Gross

7. I listen to NPR daily AND I'm a sustaining member :)

8. I saw John Glenn's space launch in 1998.  When I was in middle school I wanted to work for NASA. (it is secretly still my dream job)

9. I love corn mazes!  I inherited this from my parents and it has been a yearly tradition.

10. I knew when I was in 2nd grade, that I would marry my husband.

11. I am terrified of heights.

12. I hate pickles and olives.  I, however, cut my thumb making refrigerator pickles for Andrew.

13. I love Friday the 13th.  I get excited when a month actually has it, it's even better in October.  I think this is part of my obsession with scary everything.
