Emme 6 months

November 24, 2016

STATS
Weight: 16.5lbs
Height: 26.5 inches
Clothes: 9 months

EAT
We started Baby Led Weaning this month, so that means this little big girl started eating real food!  At first she was very unsure about it, but she loves gumming peppers and apples. She is slowing getting the hang of actually eating food and not just sucking on it.

Foods:
bell peppers, apples, bananas, chicken meatballs, broccoli, roasted sweet potatoes, roasted carrots

SLEEP
Sleep? What's that? We're still riding the struggle bus in that department. Emme has an awful habit of getting up every 2 hours. This past month has been worse and sometimes we see each other every 45 minutes at night. I hope it will start to get better.
Naps are officially in the crib. If we stay home, she gets a 1-2 hour morning nap and a 1-2 hour afternoon nap. If we're out and about, she throws a few cat naps in there and skips one of the long naps.

PLAY
Being able to sit up more has brought out a lot more toys to play with!
She loves being able to sit up and play with her big sister.

Just like with Charlee, Emme loves the Fisher Price workbench and the kitchen. She is getting really good at pushing the buttons.
We started doing some sensory bins. Emme enjoyed playing with the paper bin the most.
One new big purchase we made for Emme was a new exersaucer. She loves the o-ball one and is constantly in it while we are cooking or cleaning. She is finally tall enough to reach the bottom now too so she can bounce a little.

SISTERS

 HALLOWEEN
Charlee went as Daniel Tiger and Emme was her sidekick as O the Owl.
We went all out for trick or treating this year and did Middleton, Hilldale, Stoughton, and Epic.  It was a big weekend for trick or treating! (I spent a lot of time on those costumes so you better believe we went out a lot!)

LETTER TO EMME

Dear sweet Emme girl,

You are my snuggly, squishy peanut. I love hugging you and kissing your chubby cheeks! Everyone comments on those cheeks as soon as they see you.

You started eating solid foods this month! At first you were very unsure, but now you LOVE food. You frequently try to steal food from anyone within arm's reach.

I am so envious of the relationship that you have with your big sister. I constantly feel like an outsider looking in on you two. It's so much for to watch you and Charlee grow and to see how your relationship changes. You absolutely adore her and your face lights up when you see her. She can always get the biggest smiles and belly laughs out of you.

You are still such a mama's girl, but you have been getting better for your daddy. You love to snuggle with him and to laugh when he tickles you.

You are still unsure about the dogs. You like them from afar, but not up in your face like Charlee did/does. Maybe someday you will be obsessed with them like your sister, but for now, you prefer to be obsessed with your sister.

I can't believe how much you have grown in such a short amount of time. I feel like we were just in the hospital with you when you were a little peanut. Now you can sit up, recognize faces and voices, give big hugs and kisses. Your personality is really starting to come through. You are such a smiley little girl.

I love you so very much, my peanut.
Love,
Mommy
